Your job is to make this really spring along. Try to articulate the notes without tonguing for starters, then only introduce the most minimal amount. We want to hear beautiful separate notes, not T T T T.
You can gently slow up before the return of the main tune to make a point that this is a special moment.
Perhaps try a darker tone for the middle section, or just experiment.
